Slack & Discord connections

Share selected public channels with a project as attributed context for AI.

Before connecting a service

You need project management permission and authority to install/authorise the integration in the Slack workspace or Discord server. The platform administrator must also have configured that provider. If a button says server setup is needed, ask your administrator to enable it.

Selected channels are shared with the entire project. Slack/Discord membership is not copied onto each app user, so check that you are authorised to share those channel discussions with your project. Connecting a service alone imports no channels.

Connect Slack

  1. Open Connections in the workspace and select the intended project.
  2. Select Connect Slack and complete Slack authorisation.
  3. In Slack, invite the installed app to the public channels you want to share.
  4. Back in Connections, select Choose channels and search or select eligible channels.
  5. Confirm that the selected channels can be shared with this project, then save.

Only supported public, unarchived channels containing the app are available. Private channels and DMs are not imported.

Connect Discord

Choose Connect Discord, authorise the intended server, then choose and save eligible public text channels. The bot needs permission to view channels and read message history; server setup must include the required message-content capability.

Private channels, DMs, voice, forum, and thread channels are excluded in this integration. Check the connection’s status and error message if the expected channel is missing.

Complete authorisation from desktop

The desktop app opens the web workspace to complete provider authorisation. Sign in there with the same Multicode AI account, confirm the selected organisation/project, and click Connect Slack/Discord in that browser.

After authorising and choosing channels, return to desktop and use Refresh status. This keeps the external provider login in the browser while preserving the intended project.

Understand sync and disconnect

The integration makes bounded, attributed channel history available as project context. It is not a complete Slack or Discord archive. Initial sync reads recent messages; supported live events and reconciliation update that context afterward. Look at channel status, sync time, and source links when checking a result.

You can share up to 10 public channels per connection selection. A project manager can change the selected channels or disconnect the service. Removing a channel stops its future recall and removes its imported source records; it does not delete messages from Slack/Discord or erase excerpts already present in AI transcripts.
