Import & share repositories

Bring in a folder, start without files, or use a repository already shared with your project.

On this page

Import a folder

  1. Open your room and select the folder-plus Add repository control.
  2. Choose Import folder and select the folder on your computer.
  3. Allow the upload to finish. The repository appears in the sidebar and its files become available in All files.
  4. Select it before starting a chat or inspecting changes.

Import copies supported files into the app’s managed repository. It is not a live link to your original folder, and it does not automatically connect a GitHub remote. Dependency/build folders and other excluded paths are filtered by the importer. Check the uploaded tree before asking AI to work.

Keep passwords, tokens, and private environment files out of the folder you share. Folder import and composer attachments are different operations: attachments add text to a prompt.

Use a conversation space without files

Choose Start without files, give the space a name, then Create conversation space. You can create several chats under it with the + button. No folder upload is required.

This option removes the repository-upload step. It does not remove the computer and AI-tool prerequisites for sending prompts. See your first conversation.

Share a repository with the project

An imported repository initially belongs to its room. To make its saved code available across the project, select it and choose Share repository. Review what is being shared, especially if the source room is private.

Other project members can then open Add repository → Project repositories and select Add to room. Each room receives its own checkout and saved history. Adding one repository does not automatically add the rest.

Only people with project access can browse the shared repository catalog. A room invitation alone does not grant access to every repository in the project.

Keep shared code up to date

Use Get latest to bring the selected shared repository’s saved project changes into your room. Use Publish to share your room’s saved changes back to that project repository.

Both actions operate on the selected repository. They do not push to GitHub or create a pull request. Inspect Changes, run appropriate checks, and resolve any reported conflict before trying again.
