Desktop settings & local files
Pause execution, find your worktrees, change their location, and update the desktop client.

Open desktop settings
Open Multicode AI → Desktop settings, or press Cmd/Ctrl + ,. This screen controls the workspace address, runner connection, local worktree location, and update checks.
Use Reopen workspace to retry the configured server. Changing the workspace address changes which server the desktop client connects to; use the HTTPS origin your team trusts.
Pause, resume, and quit
Pause after current task stops new execution and waits for already accepted work to drain. A manual pause persists across relaunches. Use Resume runner when ready to accept tasks again.
Signing out stops new work for that account. Quitting normally waits for an active task and its completion report. Force-quitting, shutting down, or letting the computer sleep can interrupt work. Use Handoff when another person should continue, and inspect uploaded history after an interruption.
Find your local files
Under Local worktrees, select Open folder to inspect the workspace directory. The default is ~/multicode-ai/workspaces. Each repository in a room has a persistent worktree, created on first use. Chats in that room repository share it.
Use Change location while the runner is paused to choose where new worktrees are created. Existing worktrees retain their saved paths; changing the setting is not a migration of all old files.
These managed worktrees are separate from the folder you originally imported. Do not delete a worktree containing unsynced work you still need.
Keep desktop and runner current
Use Check for updates when your build has an update feed. You approve downloading and restarting to install. Pause the runner and save unsent drafts first.
If the app reports that updates are not configured, use the latest available official installer. An Update required computer status means the server needs a newer runner capability; reopening an old build alone will not add it.
